Contained in the Challenge, is an initiative that allows you to donate the Vi-Shape nutritional protein meals to children and families who don’t have the means to get the nutrition they need each day. Children from disadvantaged families may get to eat at school, but at night or weekends many have little or no food at home. The shake is easy for a child to make themselves, as many also don’t have a parent around on the weekend.
The Vi shakes taste like cake mix, but have a powerful nutritional advantage over most other shakes on the market. They’re a great meal replacement, nutritional booster and breakfast alternative. A breakfast of a bagel and orange juice may satisfy your craving, but it also contains extra calories that may contribute to excess fat. With breakfast being the most important meal of the day, a Vi-Shake is far superior.
For just $24, you can donate 30 Vi-Shape Nutritional Shake mix meals to children in need in your own community, and ViSalus will match each donation meal for meal. The program has already become popular with food banks who are adding the shake to their back pack program.
“We launched this program at the beginning of 2010 with an initial goal of serving 100,000 meals to children in need and have already served 176,000 to date. Due to the overwhelming success of the program we want to distribute one million meals to kids who would otherwise be going off to school without a healthy breakfast,” says Craig. Statistics bear out those children at a financial disadvantage are also at a performance disadvantage without a healthy breakfast. The fund has already contributed substantially many groups including Boys and Girls Clubs and the World Emergency Relief—a partner in the Haiti Earthquake Relief Campaign.
